In 2021, Schochet initiated its Employee Guided Giving (EGG) Fund, offering employees at all levels of the company the opportunity to submit a charitable giving request for an organization with which they have a connection. Qualified causes that are 501(c)(3) organizations, provide relief or services to the needy and have not yet this year received a donation through the program will receive a $500 grant from Schochet. At the end of the year, employees will vote on which three of the organizations receiving grants that year are most deserving of an additional $2,500 donation.
The program builds upon the company’s extensive history as a strong supporter of philanthropic causes throughout New England, where it owns and/or manages more than 5,500 apartments and 100,000 square feet of commercial space. In 2020, Schochet distributed more than $200,000 to nearly 50 local charities. The EGG Fund will distribute additional funding each year in support of the causes with which Schochet employees are most closely involved.
