Corporate Philanthropy

Schochet’s long history of charitable and civic leadership stems back to the philanthropy and social conscientiousness of its founder, Jay Schochet. The company's concern for those less fortunate is not only reflected in its business commitment to providing quality affordable housing and supporting seniors in remaining vibrant participants in their communities, but also in its involvement in numerous educational and social-service organizations.

The emphasis that Schochet places on social and humanitarian responsibility is evidenced by the numerous occasions on which the company and its staff have been acknowledged by the philanthropic community for their formidable efforts.

Schochet and its staff play leadership roles in professional and industry associations that craft and influence public policy to advocate for enhanced social programs and resources. As an organization, Schochet provides generous charitable support for numerous community initiatives, with an emphasis on those providing educational scholarships and services to the homeless, disabled and elderly. Schochet also strongly supports and encourages participation by its properties and employees in worthy causes striving to have a positive and lasting impact on our communities, the Greater New England area and globally.

Corporate Charitable Contributions

Schochet’s corporate values place an emphasis on compassion, human dignity and quality of life, which is evidenced in the way we run our business as well as the charities we support.

Employee Guided Giving

In 2021, Schochet initiated its Employee Guided Giving (EGG) Fund, offering employees at all levels of the company the opportunity to submit a charitable giving request for an organization with which they have a connection.
