BRAINTREE, MA, February 7, 2022 – Entering its 50th year of operation and growth, The Schochet Companies has expanded its capacity in resident services and property and portfolio management over the past several months, leading to recent promotions along with the creation of new positions as part of its ongoing emphasis on enhancing the quality of its properties and the experiences of its residents.

Schochet President and CEO Richard J. Henken said, “This expansion and the corresponding promotions and new positions not only evidence the progressive evolution of our corporate commitment to excellence in property management and resident services, but are also a testament to the outstanding work being done by our staff. I am so proud that we were able to draw upon internal resources for each of these roles, with top-notch professionals who have demonstrated time and time again their prioritization of community, quality of life and operational efficiency at our properties.”

Kimberly Quint, previously a portfolio manager, was promoted to the newly created position of director of portfolio operations, which will enable her to focus on portfolio-wide quality and systems initiative, working closely with Executive Vice President Peter Lewis in overseeing day-to-day portfolio operations as well as Lewis, Chief Operating Officer David Flad, and Chief Financial Officer Brian Tewksbury coordinating portfolio-wide system improvements. After joining Schochet in 2013 as senior property manager, Quint was promoted to portfolio manager in 2017 and director of property operations in 2021. Quint started in the real estate management field as an assistant property manager after obtaining a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Massachusetts. Following several property management positions, she became a financial analyst for a subsidized portfolio. Her experience also includes researching, testing and structuring training on property management software, as well as creating policies and procedures ensuring properties adhere to compliance best practices. She is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) from the Institute of Real Estate Management, NAHP®-e from the National Affordable Housing Management Association and holds several other certifications in the affordable housing industry. She also represents Schochet on the Board of Directors of the New England Affordable Housing Management Association.

Caroline Fortin will assume much of the day-to-day property management oversight in her promotion to portfolio manager. After starting with Schochet in 2012 as the property manager at RHF’s Riverside Village (managed by Schochet in Leominster, MA), Fortin was promoted to senior property manager there in 2016, and then moved to Schochet property Fresh Pond Apartments in Cambridge, MA, in 2018, where she has been instrumental leading various large scale projects and effective emergency responses. Most recently, she played a key support role as Schochet reached agreement with the City of Cambridge to maintain Fresh Pond as affordable housing for the next 50 years. Her portfolio will include Riverside Village, Fresh Pond, Marian Gardens, Stearns, Mason Place, and Danforth Heights.

Scott Cole has rejoined the Schochet management team as director of resident services, a position he held prior to moving out-of-state with his family in 2017. Working closely with Theresa Morris, Schochet vice president of client engagement and administration, Cole is already increasing involvement with residents, leading a team of 13 resident services coordinators across New England. He originally joined Schochet in 2007 as resident service coordinator at Fresh Pond, and was promoted to senior resident services coordinator in 2010 and director of resident services in 2013. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies from Gordon College and is certified as an ESOL Instructor, Fair Housing Coordinator, and Resident Service Coordinator. Prior to joining Schochet, Scott worked for the Boston Language Institute as an ESL teacher.

April Fiestas, property manager at RHF’s Shepherd Park (managed by Schochet in Hartford, CT) for more than six years, has been promoted to senior property manager, a position in which she will expand Schochet’s services and capacity in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts by working with properties in that area and taking on additional responsibilities.

Anna Situ, resident services coordinator at Retirement Housing Foundation’s Symphony Plaza (managed by Schochet in Boston) for the past six years, was promoted to senior resident service coordinator. She will work closely with Cole to coordinate resident services with other properties outside of Symphony, supporting resident service coordinators across the Boston metro area as she expands her role.
